GirlX is a privacy-first social and dating app built and operated by Connectiva Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information GirlX collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Privacy is core to GirlX — we collect the minimum we need to run the app safely.
01Who we are
GirlX is published by Connectiva Labs, an app studio based in India. This policy applies only to the GirlX app; other apps by Connectiva Labs have their own policies.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — phone number (verified by OTP), display name, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), and profile photos.
- Profile information — bio, interests, community selections, and preferences you choose to show on your profile.
- Messages — chats you exchange with matches, and content you store in your Secret Vault.
- Reports — information you provide when you report a profile or message.
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location — with your permission, to show people nearby. You can turn this off in device settings; distance shown to others is approximate, never your exact location.
- Device and usage data — device model, OS, app version, crash logs, and feature interaction data used to fix bugs and improve the app.
- Purchase data — subscription status from Google Play / App Store billing. We never see your card or banking details.
03Sensitive information
Your dating profile, preferences, and activity on GirlX are personal to you. We process them only with your consent, only to provide the app's matching and community features, and we never sell them or share them for advertising. You can delete your account at any time, which removes this data (see our Delete Account page).
Safety features like the Secret Vault, PIN lock, and Hidden Profiles are designed so you control who sees you. Vault PIN and lock credentials are stored securely on your device (secure storage), not on our servers in readable form.
04How we use information
- To create your account and show your profile to relevant people;
- To power matching, discovery, nearby, and chat features;
- To process Premium subscriptions;
- To keep the community safe — moderation, fraud prevention, and enforcing our Terms and Child Safety policy;
- To fix crashes and improve features;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads based on your data.
05Sharing & third parties
- Other users — your profile (name, photos, bio, communities, approximate distance) is visible to other users as controlled by your settings (Hidden Profiles, incognito options).
- Service providers — infrastructure such as cloud hosting, OTP/SMS delivery, push notifications, and crash reporting. They process data only on our instructions.
- Legal authorities — when required by law, or to protect the safety of users or the public (see our Child Safety & CSAE policy).
- Business transfer — if GirlX changes ownership, we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
06Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days, with backups purged within 90 days. We may retain limited records where the law requires it or where needed to prevent banned users from returning (e.g. device/account identifiers linked to safety violations).
07Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (TLS). Access to production data is restricted and audited. Vault and PIN features use your device's secure storage. No system is 100% secure, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by law.
08Age requirement — 18+
GirlX is strictly for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly allow minors on the platform or collect their data. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed immediately and their data deleted. See our Child Safety & CSAE policy.
09Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — edit your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your data;
- Deletion — delete your account in-app or via our Delete Account page;
- Permissions — withdraw location, camera, or notification permissions any time in device settings;
- Visibility — control who sees you with Hidden Profiles and privacy settings.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have further rights (portability, objection). Email us and we will honour applicable requests within 30 days.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GirlX evolves. For material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
